Iberia has already designed its flight programme for the next winter season, which will begin on 28 October and run until 30 March 2024.
During those five months, the airline will focus even more on its long-haul network, with 17 percent more flights on these routes, with the aim of positioning Madrid Barajas airport as a bridge between Europe and America.
In the case of the United States, the Spanish airline will offer 90 weekly flights between its eight destinations in the country – two of them seasonal – and Madrid, which represents an increase of 24 percent over pre-pandemic levels. In total, Iberia will offer nearly 620,000 seats for sale between the United States and Spain.
This winter season, Iberia will offer two daily flights to Miami, and also between 11 and 14 weekly frequencies between Madrid and New York. In addition, it consolidates its daily flight to Chicago, four weekly frequencies to Dallas and another three to Los Angeles. Boston increases two frequencies compared to 2019, which will allow it to reach five flights every week.
In 2022, Iberia launched two new routes: Washington – which remains seasonal – and Dallas – which operates year-round.
“We are developing an ambitious plan in America with the aim of positioning Madrid as a gateway to Europe from the other side of the Atlantic and boosting connectivity with this region. In addition to this increase in frequencies, we are adding a more sustainable fleet and improvements to our in-flight experience to position ourselves as the best option for flying between the two sides of the Atlantic,” says Mª Jesús López Solás, Iberia’s Commercial and Network Development and Alliances Director.
